I'm Jack Stunell, a UK-based freelance full stack developer. I build back ends in .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core and Umbraco CMS, and front ends and UI in React, Vue, SolidJS and TailwindCSS. I'm available for remote contract work, and open to permanent hybrid roles in London and the South East.
Working across the C# / .NET back end and Vue.js front end of Kingfisher's main application. Building features end to end, from EF Core data layers and APIs to Bootstrap UI, with Docker for local development and Azure for hosting. Delivered upgrades to .NET 10 and from Umbraco 13 to 17.
Built Bancroft, a project management and reporting platform for a construction company. Delivered expenditure, risk and weekly status reporting, with Hangfire background jobs, a SolidJS question builder and role-based access. Deployed to Azure App Service with Docker and Azure Pipelines.
Led the migration of a large government website from Umbraco 7 to Umbraco 10 on .NET 6. Built APIs for third-party integrations and EF Core data layers, and ran regular sprint demos with the client.
Joined mid-project to co-lead a headless Umbraco 10 build on .NET 6. Implemented OIDC authentication with Identity Server and Azure AD, containerised the CMS with Docker, and integrated Azure Service Bus and ExamineX search.
Provided ongoing technical support for a large headless CMS that powers Diageo's core web estate. Worked across AWS infrastructure, MongoDB, GraphQL and a React front end.
Supported client sites including Tesco PLC, Ocado, ArcelorMittal and GSK. Led the CNHI website build in Umbraco 8 and managed a full Azure infrastructure rebrand for ArcelorMittal and its brands.
Owned development of jaywing.com and led the build of the new Jaywing Risk website in Umbraco 8. Wrote technical specs, designed the server architecture, set up CI/CD pipelines and ran production deployments.
Architected an internal tool that converted InDesign files into Umbraco Cloud websites. Built a modular rapid-site framework used across the agency, set up Azure DevOps CI/CD, and published two open-source Umbraco packages.
Led development and technical architecture at an Umbraco Gold Partner. Managed and mentored the dev team, set coding standards, and scoped and built projects for clients including Britax, Amnesty International and The OR Society.

A command-line tool for Umbraco 17+. Manage content, media and document types from a terminal, script or CI pipeline, and move schema, media and content between sites. Every command can print JSON or CSV.
Edit Umbraco dictionary values with a Tiptap rich text or Markdown editor instead of a plain textarea. No migrations or custom tables, and existing GetDictionaryValue calls keep working.
A rich log explorer for the Umbraco backoffice and a drop-in replacement for the built-in Log Viewer. Click values, fields and histogram bars to build filters without learning a query language.
I've spent nearly two decades working with agencies, digital studios and enterprise clients.
